City gallery Old Firestation inside the City museum Amberg


The Stadtgalerie ALTE FEUERWACHE (City Gallery) is a municipal exhibition room about 170 square meters in size. It is used for exhibitions of visual arts, especially focussing on contemporary art from Eastern Bavaria. The sophisticated display covers painting, graphics, sculpture, object, art photography, new media as well as installations.

Every year, there are about eight temporary exhibitions. The old firestation City Gallery is supported by the Gewinnsparverein of the Sparda-Bank Ostbayern e.V. (Sparda-Bank Eastern Bavaria e.V.).

The gallery is a member of the Kulturkooperative Oberpfalz – KoOpf (Upper Palatinate cultural network KoOpf). This network has 20 members and three associates in the Czech Republic as well as one in Lower Bavaria.

Generally, access to the gallery is provided through the Stadtmuseum.
